Chicken Enchilada Pasta

I found a new favorite recipe!  Tonight I made Chicken Enchilada Pasta.  It was DE-LISH!  When I first saw this recipe, I was somewhat skeptical.  I was not sure of how I felt about Mexican being mixed with Italian.  But let me tell you, it was a FABULOUS mix.  You all have got to give it a try!
I found the recipe on this blog that then led me here where you can find the recipe.  Enjoy!

The Real World

I found this quote on Pinterest awhile ago and was so excited.  These have always been my exact thoughts.  One of my biggest pet peeves is when I hear someone say, "Now it's time to face the real world."  I usually hear this statement when someone is talking about graduating high school or college.  I have always hated the sound of that statement.  It fills me with fear and hatred.  It makes me think that my life before I graduated high school or my life before I graduate college was/is not "real" or important.  Not as special as the "real world."

But...like the quote says...each and every one of us has been in the "real world" since the day that we were born.  As a matter of fact, the MOST "real" part of my life was my childhood.  I would go back in a heartbeat.  We are constantly wanting to grow up...to accomplish more goals...to fast forward through life.  We are always trying to find this mythical "real world."  When in fact, each and every one of us is in the "real world" right now.  So...slow down.  Every single journey through your life is important and happens for a reason.

Go LIVE and be HAPPY...no matter where you are in life.

Hey friends!  Just wanted to let you know today that EACH and every one of you is loved!  As I was reading my Bible plans yesterday and today, I couldn't stop myself from smiling.  Two of my devotions talked about God's love for us.

Yesterday, I read this:

"That is how God loves us.  Just for who we are.  Yes, a life of obedience to Him and being in fellowship with Him throughout the day gives Him joy, but He loves us because that is just who He is.  He is love and He loved us enough to sacrifice His only son for us.  He cannot not love us." -source

And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. -Ephesians 3:18

Today, I read this:

And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you... -Matthew 6:30

Did you guys read that?  God's love for us is SO VERY wide, long, high, and deep.  He loves us from the depths of this Earth and back.  He IS love.  He even cares for wildflowers.  That goes to show how much he loves YOU.  Just for being you.  Rejoice in that today...and share the good news!

Happy Hump Day! xoxo

Obsessed: Dip-Dyed Hair

So I recently fell in love with the "dip-dyed" hair look.  My sister and I decided to dip dye our own hair.  We bought a bubble gum pink demi-permanent hair dye and dyed our tips!  Here was the result:

We dyed our tips in layers, starting with the bottom.  We dyed the tips of each 1-2 inch section of hair.  We dyed about 3 inches of tip.  My sister and I used foils to dye the tips.  Overall, we were pleased with the results.  Here are step-by-step instructions that my sister and I went by. The instructions say to bleach the tips before you color them.  I did not do this because I did not want my tips to be bleached after the color washed out.  My sister did bleach her tips, though, because she has dark hair and wanted the color to show up.
 Happy Thursday (Almost Friday!)

Obsessed: Pastel Hair

Thanks to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry...this trend is starting to boom.  ...And I like it!  I would NEVER be gutsy enough to color my whole entire head in a pastel color...unless it was for Halloween...Ha!  Anyways...here are some gorgeous hair pictures!

I'm sure that you have all felt like the girl in this picture.  Furious beyond belief.  Someone pushed your buttons.  Steam feels like it is pouring out of your ears.  You feel a huge knot of energy in your stomach that is on the verge of exploding.  You want to scream.  Your chest is tight.  It takes every ounce of your energy to not explode into a million pieces.  ANGER.

When someone says something bad about me, my family, or friends, I get upset.  I want so badly to say something back to them.  I want to prove them wrong.  I want to WIN.  It's always about winning, isn't it?  This whole world is obsessed with competition.  When we get in arguments because of anger, each person is out to WIN the argument.

Although it is so very tempting to try to prevail over the other person in an argument, it is so detrimental to you and the other person.  I have really learned this over the past year.  Instead of trying to win the argument, it is best to just humble yourself and kill the other person with kindness.  To step back, take a breather.  To shut your mouth.  And oh, that is so very hard to do when you are filled with downright rage.  BUT, anger has got to be dealt with in that way.  When anger is not dealt with properly, it is a very bad thing.  It HURTS people, badly.

Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper-it only leads to harm. -Psalm 37:8

A hot-tempered person starts fights; a cool tempered person stops them. -Proverbs 15:18

An angry person starts fights; a hot-tempered person commits all kinds of sin. -Proverbs 29:22

People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness. -Proverbs 14:29

Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs. -Proverbs 19:11

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. -James 1:19-20

And "don't sin by letting anger control you." Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. -Ephesians 4:26-27

Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool. -Ecclesiastes 7:9

(Bible Gateway)

There you have it.  When anger is not dealt with properly, it leads to fights.  It leads to harm.  It leads to sin.

Do you want to be labeled a FOOL?
Ya, me neither.

Turkey Run 2012

Here are pictures of our Turkey Run trip!  We had a blast.  The first day, we went canoeing...we decided to go on the longest trip...10 miles.  And let me just say...I was done after the fifth mile.  The river was sooo low.  We had to keep carrying our canoe over sand banks.  It was a good workout, though!  The next day we hiked the trails.  It was alot of fun!  We did the most rugged trail first. Some parts of this trail were dangerous.  We experienced a guy falling off of a cliff and gashing his head open.  It was kind of scary...but he did go off of the trail and was jumping cliffs...so no wonder he fell.  At nights, we cooked over the fire and just hung out.  We had chicken fajitas the one night and hamburgers the next.  Overall, it was a great trip!

Liebster Blog Award Part 2

The sweet Livvy from Schadenfreude gave me my second Liebster Blog Award.  Since I already participated, this time, I'm going to simply answer the questions that she gave me.  Thanks, Livvy!
1. Favourite item of clothing and why?
Hmmm....I would have to say that it is my blue t-shirt night gown.  It is the comfiest thing ever!

2. What is your best talent?
I would say baking and crafts.

3. Have you ever won a competition and what did you win?
I won a spelling bee when I was in elementary school.  I won a plastic trophy...lol.

4. Favourite beauty store?
I don't really shop at beauty stores.  So my favorite place to get beauty supplies would probably be Wal-greens.  They have "Physician's Formula" and "Say Yes" products-two of my favorites.

5. Best homemade beauty treatment?
I have recently used honey on my face as a face wash.  It is supposed to clear up skin and it is super easy to clean off.

6. Favourite life tip?

7. Worst thing that has ever happened to you?
An allergic reaction to a drug.

8. What do you wish you had done when you were younger?
I wouldn't change my childhood for anything.  It was perfect.

9. Have you ever wished you were someone else and what was this person like?
No, not really.  I just wish that I would be more care-free and not scared of everything.

10. A secret about you?
I don't wanna tell :)

11. Favourite 5 websites?
